November 11 is the day many countries celebrate as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day or Veterans Day. It's the anniversary of the Armistice which ended the Great War , World War I. The Allied nations and Germany signed the Armistice on the 11th hour of the 11th day in the 11th month 1918  ending the hostilities in World War I.
