Good-to-Have Hunting Gear for 2019

Don’t overlook these keep-on-hand items for when conditions warrant.

SHOT Show 2019 showed us there’s plenty of new gear that belongs in our hunting and shooting arsenal.

That includes those keep-on-hand items that need to be handy when conditions require.

Here’s some good-to-have gear not to be overlooked.

L.L. Bean Maine Warden’s Day Pack

Built with the game warden in mind — by their design, in fact — the pack body is made from water-resistant ripstop polyester. The waterproof bottom is made from TPU-coated 400D double-ripstop nylon, and the bag’s lining is made from 210D plain-weave nylon. It features raised air mesh back panels for cooling ventilation and support for all-day comfort. Plus, $2 from each pack sold is donated to the Maine division of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Flambeau The Gunning Series Duck Decoys

The family of decoys was modeled after the heritage-carving concept of simplicity and efficiently once based on the real anatomy of ducks. The low profile, or skeg-style keel, in combination with the decoy’s carefully engineered curved underside makes the decoy ride like a live duck. The anatomically inspired round hull featuring a low profile, blade keel with stainless steel insert weights creates live duck performance in all conditions.
