Western NY Channel Cat

Camera Corner reader submission

This isn't one of the bigger fish that we usually catch out of Cattaraugus Creek in Irving, NY, but I thought it was a nice looking photo with the sun showing the golden color of the channel cat. Most of the time people think of the catfish as an ugly species, but this photo shows their true beauty. The catfish was taken using a night-crawler fished under a slip float rig.

Lone Doe

Was walking through the everyday trail when this beautiful young doe steps out from the brush. I had been trailing a family of 9 when she separated off from the crowd. She was about 4 yards in front of me chewing on some weeds.

Super Jake came into a couple of hen decoys after coming off the roost. We thought we lost his attention until he gobbled at 10 yds behind us, sending us a few inches off the ground. He casually walked out and was shot at 15 yds.
