Fishing lures are always coming and going. Some companies make it, some companies close up shop and others simply axe a product because it isn't selling like they had planned.
Granted, there's good reason why some of these companies go away or get rid of a product line. However, some lures are fantastic and they ultimately just stop getting made for one reason or another.
I call these lures garage sale treasures because that's exactly what they are, and usually where I end up finding them. You should never pass up a garage sale if you see a rod or two on the lawn. You may end up finding a box full of pre-Rapala Wiggle Warts, or some other discontinued lure that fetches a lot of money on Ebay.
It's not a bad idea to fish with these lures either. Discontinued lures likely haven't been seen by a fish for a while, if ever.

One of my favorite crankbaits to throw is the Rapala Risto Rap, which was discontinued some time ago. Thankfully I've been able to find a number of them over the years. In fact, if you know of anyone trying to get rid of some, I might know a guy that'll buy them.
Editor’s Note: I have a few of your Rapala Risto Raps. What will you give me for them?
