Biekert Bears the Weight of Winter Hunt in Montana
January 23, 2015
Greg Biekert
Former Colorado and long-time Raiders linebacker Greg Biekert rarely missed a tackle in a celebrated 11-year NFL career, and he has only one shot for glory against a black bear in Northwest Montana in next week's Gridiron Outdoors with Mike Pawlawski adventure.
The episode airs Monday, Jan. 26 at 10:30 a.m. ET, Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 2:30 p.m. ET, and Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m. ET on Outdoor Channel.
Biekert, who led the Raiders in tackles six times and who recovered the Tom Brady fumble that was ruled incomplete because of the Tuck Rule in the 2001 AFC playoffs, trudges through miles of steep, wet, nasty terrain, endures precarious fire roads, and has to avoid rivers of melting snow to ultimately face his nemesis on the final day of the hunt. Pawlawski, a record-setting quarterback at the University of California in the early 90s, has his own special black bear moment.
