LAS VEGAS -- Jim Shockey’s The Professionals was the big winner at the 13th Annual Golden Moose Awards on Thursday night. After hauling in best sound design and best videography, The Professionals came away as the Best Overall show.
Outdoor Channel, America's Leader In Outdoor TV, unveiled the winners in a star-studded affair at The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The network’s annual marquis ceremony was held during the National Shooting Sports Foundation ’s annual Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT) and Conference.

The event was hosted by Michael Waddell of Outdoor Channel’s “Realtree Road Trips with Michael Waddell” and “Bone Collector.” The ceremony concluded with a performance by country music duo Big & Rich, whose act featured the infectious hit single “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).”

More than 1,800 outdoor industry leaders, TV personalities and lucky fans attended the highly-anticipated awards show, which will be broadcast on the network as a special in the first quarter of 2013.
Twenty-three awards were presented, including five “Fan Favorite” accolades, to celebrate Outdoor Channel’s most popular programs and recognize the network’s producers and on-air talent for their unparalleled work in 2012.
This year, Craig Morgan was presented a special Golden Moose Humanitarian Award for his enormous efforts with the Folds of Honor Foundation – a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing scholarships to the family members of our country’s fallen soldiers.Morgan performed “What Matters Most,” a melodious track about the country’s fallen soldiers and their families.

Also, life-long deer hunter Jackie Bushman received an honorary Pioneer Award for decades of contribution to outdoor television.
