Michael Cassidy, a life-long sales and content executive with a rich background in the outdoor multimedia and publishing industry, has recently joined the board of directors for the Sportsmen's Alliance and Sportsmen's Alliance Foundation to help protect hunters, anglers and trappers nationwide.

"I am honored to be serving on the board of Sportsman's Alliance and its foundation in order to continue and further their great work on the front lines defending hunting, fishing, trapping and conservation," said Cassidy.

Residing in Windermere, Fla., with his wife, Shery, Cassidy is the publisher of the Game & Fish and In-Fisherman properties for the Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG). Prior to joining OSG he had a rewarding career in the publishing industry as the Executive Vice President Group Publisher and Executive Producer Television at Scout.com (North American Hunter and North American Fisherman). Cassidy has served as Senior Director of Sales at ESPN Outdoors and BASS, where he represented the ESPN2 Outdoors Block, ESPNOutdoors.com, Bassmaster.com, National Media Sales and BASS publications Fishing Tackle Retailer, Bassmaster, BASS Times, and Junior Bassmaster, as well as acting as Associate Publisher, Eastern Advertising Director, and Director of Sporting Goods at Time4 Outdoors, where he represented such magazines as Field & Stream, Outdoor Life and SHOT Business. Rounding out his experience at the top of the industry’s publishing houses, Cassidy has also served as Publisher of Guns & Ammo, Handguns and Military Classics magazines at PRIMEDIA.

"We're very excited to announce the addition of Michael to the boards,” said Evan Heusinkveld, Sportsmen's Alliance president and CEO. "Michael's background, experience, connections and understanding of the industry will serve as an invaluable asset in our fight to protect sportsmen nationwide from attacks by the animal-rights and anti-hunting movement."

A native of Rye, N.Y., Cassidy graduated from St. Thomas University with a M.P.S. Master's Degree in Professional Studies Executive Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership. Michael was the recipient of St. Thomas University's prestigious "Communicator of the Year" award in 2007. He continues an active relationship with St. Thomas University as an Adjunct Professor teaching organizational behavior. Cassidy proudly served as a Chief Warrant Officer (Ret.) of the New York State Guard and currently serves as a delegate representing the United States at the CIC International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation, as well as sitting on the Board of Directors for both the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation and Bonefish Tarpon Trust and Wildlife Forever.
