10 Cures for Off-Season Cabin Fever
January 10, 2014
Winter is here; and many of us are either going stir-crazy already, or shivering at the thought of being pent up in the house. It's cabin fever. There's schoolwork to be done for some, housework or family time for others, and these are important things. But when it comes down to it, we hunters and anglers are pretty darn addicted to our pursuits. Even in the most brutal weather, or the days between our last tag filled and the next season's opener, sportsmen appreciate regular reminders of what we do and why we do it. These reminders get us prepared and stoked for the next season, or they take us back to some good-times-past.
Now, of course, there are many off-season activities that don't relate to hunting or fishing — "skiing" or "actually cleaning the basement, for once" — but these are merely distractions; the mind always wanders back to the woods and the water. Though far from exhaustive, here is a list of great cabin-fever reducers, a few of the standbys.
