Five-time B.A.S.S. event champion Terry Scroggins joins the competition fieldfor Jack Link’s Major League Fishing’s second televised event, The General TireSummit Cup, League Commissioner Don Rucks announced.
Scroggins, who finished third in this season’s Toyota Tundra Angler of theYear standings, has 42 B.A.S.S. Top Ten finishes. Scroggins, of Palatka, Fla.,replaces Kevin VanDam, who was unable to compete in the Summit Cup because ofscheduling conflicts. VanDam will return for Major League Fishing’s nextevent.
The Summit Cup, filmed August 27 through September 1 on Chautauqua Lake inWestern New York, will begin airing on Thursday, January 3, 2012, at 9 p.m. ET/8p.m. CT on Outdoor Channel.

Elite Series tour, we arefortunate that Terry Scroggins is joining us,” said Major League FishingCommissioner Don Rucks. “Terry’s a creative and popular angler, and he has thetype of on-camera personality that works extremely well at Major League Fishing.We believe we have a field of anglers that is second to none, and TerryScroggins fits right in.”

Major League Fishing angler Tim Horton, who missed the league’s first event,will also be competing at the Chautauqua Lake event. In the league’s firstevent, Todd Faircloth stepped in for Horton.
Altogether, the 24 Summit Cup competitors include: Tommy Biffle, DennyBrauer, Mark Davis, Boyd Duckett, Brent Ehrler, Edwin Evers, Shaw Grigsby, GregHackney, Mike Iaconelli, Alton Jones, Kelly Jordon, Jeff Kriet, Gary Klein,Bobby Lane, Aaron Martens, Mike McClelland, Ish Monroe, Takahiro Omori, JasonQuinn, Skeet Reese, Dean Rojas and Byron Velvick, as well as Scroggins andHorton.
The General Tire Summit Cup will air six times per week during the firstquarter of 2013 on Outdoor Channel, America’s Leader In Outdoor TV. TheChampionship Round also will air on February 9 at 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT on the NBCnetwork. Subsequent to its airing on NBC, the championship round will re-air onOutdoor Channel the following week.

Major League Fishing is a partnership between Outdoor Channel and 24 of theworld’s best anglers. The league features made-for-television bass fishingevents designed to bring high-level challenges to participants andentertainment, as well as insight, to audiences.
Major League Fishing’s made-for-television events utilize a format thatallows anglers to weigh all the score-able bass that they catch. The bass areimmediately weighed after they are caught, then released back into the water.Anglers know where they rank in the standings at all times via real-time leaderboards in their boats. The competitors are not allowed to practice before eventsand knew the Chautauqua Lake destination only two days prior to the start of theSummit Cup.
