SHOT SHOW 2016: Mossberg Pro-Series Waterfowl

You might wonder about the name "Pro-Series" in a waterfowl shotgun. It comes from the fact that many of the upgrades in these two new models —  the 930 and 935 Magnum —  come from the influence of pro shooter Jerry Miculek and the three-gun side of the Mossberg business.

They took the features that are making the 930 Jerry Miculek Pro Series a fast-loading and reliable shotgun and put them in these new waterfowl editions. But they also put a stainless steel recoil spring in the stock: any workhorse duck and goose gun will get muck inside the buffer tube, and anything less than stainless will corrode pretty quickly, especially if you get into saltwater.

Dave Miles of Mossberg said they also put additional boron nitride coatings on internal parts, such as piston rings and magazine tubes, and increased the finishes on parts like the shell stops and bolt slide to reduce friction and speed follow-up shots.

Both models come in Mossy Oak Shadowgrass Blades and have a fiber optic front sight, three chokes and a stock-drop system that lets you adjust your drop-at-comb. MSRPs range from $797-$931.
