Big Green newsflash: Remington's XR-100 Rangemaster is a competition-grade single-shot built on the revered XP-100 action. It features a solid-bottom receiver and is fitted with an adjustable target trigger. It's got a 26-inch varmint contour barrel and can be had in .223, .204 Ruger and .22-250. In the varmint section is the Model 700 VSF and VS SF II. The VSF's got a 26-inch heavy barrel, desert-tan camo stock with black spiderwebbing and comes in .223, .22-250 and .308. The VS SF II features a 26-inch fluted heavy barrel, H.S. Precision composite stock and comes in .223, .220 Swift, .204 Ruger and .22-250. Rimfire-wise, there's the Model 504-T LS HB, a heavy-barreled version of the company's premier bolt-action rimfire. It features a laminate Monte Carlo stock and can be had in .22 Long Rifle and .17 Mach 2. The big shotgun news this year is turkey-oriented. The Model 870 SPS-T features a Mossy Oak Obsession synthetic thumbhole stock and a 23-inch barrel with Tru-Glo adjustable rifle-type sights. Oh, yeah, and a 3 1/2-inch 12-gauge chambering. An old name: Savage has a new centerfire bolt action under a legendary brand name. The Stevens Model 200 features a gray synthetic stock with dual pillar bedding and a 22-inch barrel. From the Big Red one: Winchester's new Model 70 Camo Ultimate Shadow features a Mossy Oak BreakUp composite stock with a Dura-Touch finish. The rifle features a controlled-round-feed action. It's available in all WSM (24-inch barrel) and WSSM (22-inch barrel) calibers, including the new .325 WSM. Additionally, the Coyote Model 70 has been lightened, morphing into the Coyote Lite. It's also available in all the WSM and WSSM calibers as well as the new .325 WSM. The Model 1885 High Wall single-shot rifle is now available in .270 WSM, 7mm WSM and .300 WSM calibers.
On a smaller scale, the Model 1885 Low Wall is now chambered in the new .17 Mach 2 rimfire. A new addition to the Model 94 family is the Timber Scout, which features a rail/base mounted to its 18-inch barrel to secure a long-eye-relief scope with QD mounts. The rifle's also got XS-brand ghost-ring sights. This one's available in .30-30 or .44 Mag. Also new in the Model 94 line is the Legacy Cased-Colored Octagon and Case-Colored Round barrel versions. These will feature a case-colored receiver, curved buttplate and adjustable Marble's rear tang sight. They're available in .30-30 or .38-55 only. After 33 years, production of the Model 9422 rimfire rifle is ending. A limited-edition run of 9,422 will be produced in a Tribute Series (with 222 rifles in a Custom Edition). Both models will be offered in .22 Long Rifle or .22 WMR. Winchester's also got a new Super X2 Light Field 12 gauge (3 inch) that weighs about 6 1/2 pounds, thanks to an alloy receiver and magazine tube and a lightweight rib configuration.
