At 330 fps IBO speed, it seems the arrow is in the target nearly as soon as it leaves the Katera. Granted, you likely won’t shoot a 350-grain arrow (the IBO standard weight), but when you load it down with hunting-weight arrows, it will still shoot through holes, minimize the effects of game jumping the string and reduce range estimation errors.
The Katera has parallel limbs for a soft-feeling shot and is quiet with Hoyt’s string suppressor. The grip is small and comfortable, which means less bow hand torque. The Katera’s speed comes from Hoyt’s new Z3 Cam & 1/2 system. It is surprisingly smooth, has a draw-stop to produce a solid back wall for consistent shooting, and Hoyt optimized it for excellent arrow flight. Suggested retail price is $849.
