Texas bass fisherman Skip Harpold shared this story about this big April largemouth bass. Here’s his recollection from the April 13, 2017 catch in Cat Spring, Texas.
By Skip Harpold
I was fishing the late morning when I kept seeing the water wake and splash on a shallow flat.
I had envisioned that there was bass trying to keep predators off her bed.
The only predator I had on me was an H2O Express hollow boviedo frog. (The full size).

I was kicking myself in the foot, I had left my dooms day turtles at home, seeing as turtles were the natural predator in the area.
I tied on my frog, filled it with water and casted right over the action to the bank. I popped and drug the frog off the bank for nearly a half-hour.
Finally, I got her upset and she destroyed the frog like a tarpon then diving deep into some cover. Rod bent, I landed her and the cover she sought. What a whopper!
