What's in Season and Where I Catch 'Em

Pike and bass are still in season in southern Ontario, but bass not for much longer (November 30). Pike are in season through the hard water season (March 15).

It is pretty cold out there, and it's tough fishing right now, but you can catch a few this time of year. You just have to be patient and use live bait, or if you can't get any, you can use heavily scented soft baits like gulp (biodegrades). And I mean real patient, but if you aren't, sometimes you can hook in to some nice pike and the odd bass.

You better bundle up because it is cold out there. I fish at Guelph Lake, and I usually look for the schools of baitfish and cast a fat minnow on a bobber in and around the school so just wait. That's my advice sometimes, it works and sometimes you spend the day in the cold watching a bobber. Well that is why they call it fishing anyway.

It's a great day for fishing!
