Traditions Vortek Ultralight LDR Muzzleloader - First Look
Vortekâ„¢ Ultralight LDR

Old Saybrook, CT (January, 2012) - Traditions™ Performance Firearms, known for their extremely accurate and dependable muzzleloaders introduces the new Vortek™ Ultralight LDR, the ONLY 30-inch barreled break-open muzzleloader on the market! A 30" barrel will provide you with a longer, more complete powder burn giving you better consistency, increased velocity, and downrange accuracy. With this long distance rifle, you will increase your velocity to 100-150 ft. per second.

The Vortek™ Ultralight LDR has a 30" Ultralight Chromoly tapered and fluted barrel. Chromoly has long been recognized as the best barrel material for strength and accuracy. It also removes over a pound of weight from the barrel eliminating the "muzzle-heavy" feel like others on the market. Coupled with an LT-1 Alloy frame, the Vortek™ Ultralight LDR is built to travel and is easy to carry, weighing in at only 6.8 lbs! The LDR also features Premium CeraKote Finish which is 50 times more corrosion resistant than stainless steel. This ceramic coating protects against highly corrosive black powder, cleaning chemicals, and any weather Mother Nature can dish out. Additionally, the LDR features a drop-out trigger, allowing you to remove the entire trigger assembly and hammer by removing one screw. The LDR is equipped with Traditions™ Accelerator Breech Plug™ which removes in 3 turns by hand allowing you to clean your muzzleloader or remove a load from the barrel. The Accelerator Breech Plug™ also makes for a more consistent ignition and the heavy-duty O-ring also helps eliminate blow back.

Vortek™ Ultralight LDR incorporates a Dual Safety System. Traditions™ offers the only muzzleloaders on the market today with this system. This system incorporates two safeties. First, positioned on the trigger guard, you will notice a trigger block safety. The second safety, an internal hammer block safety, prevents the hammer from engaging the firing pin unless it has been manually cocked and the trigger pulled. The combination of these two safeties allows you to break open the rifle and remove your primer at any time.

The Vortek™ Ultralight LDR is offered in many different configurations. The LDR is available in a black/CeraKote model (MSRP $459). This gun is also presented in a model that is legal to those living in the Northwestern part of the country. Since states like WA, ID, and OR must adhere to certain regulations, we have outfitted the LDR with an open breech and fiber optic metal sights to go along with the 30" barrel and make the gun fit state regulations. The Vortek™ Ultralight LDR Northwest Magnum model is available in Black/CeraKote (MSRP $489). For 2012, we are also introducing new, Traditions™ muzzleloading exclusive Reaper Buck camo. The Reaper Buck camo pattern will be available on two LDR models: a Reaper Buck/CeraKote model (MSRP $509) and a package with a Reaper Buck/CeraKote LDR with a 6-9" bipod and 4-12x40 scope mounted and bore sighted (MSRP $679).
