The Spring Fishing and Boat Show Is On All Family Day Long Weekend
The 2011 Spring Fishing and Boat Show is officially underway, and one thing is certain - if you?re looking for something to do over the Family Day long weekend, this is the place to be.
As soon as you walk through the doors, you?ll be struck by how much there is to do. The show is simply enormous, and with so much to see and do, anglers of all ages will find something to love here. Dozens of vendors have set up booths, and offer practically anything that you could want. If you?re looking for a new rod, the show has you covered. If you?re looking for lures or bait, you?ve come to the right place. From fishing line, to clothes, to sunglasses, if you want it, the Spring and Fishing Show has it. And many of the vendors have slashed their prices, so be sure to take advantage of the great deals.
Perhaps you?re looking to purchase something a little larger than a fishing rod or lure. In that case, check out the dozens of boats that take up the central part of the floor. Practically any type of boat that you can think of is here for you to examine up close, and available for purchase.
After you?ve checked out the vendors, there?s still plenty of stuff for you to do. The Mega Tank is located in the very middle of the floor, and it is a sight to behold. Filled with water and teeming with live bass, this is the centerpiece of the show, and it?s here that you can watch and learn from some of the biggest names in the industry. Hosted by Ron James, there are several seminars daily, featuring names like JP DeRose, Bob Izumi, Gord Pyzer, Italo Labignan, and many more. Watch as these pro anglers give live demos and provide tips on casting, what lures to use, and how you can increase the number of fish you can catch.
For the kids, there?s a free fishing pond, where they can drop a line in the water and catch a live trout! This area is always crowded, so get there early for your chance to catch a big one. They can also learn how to fly fish by practicing their casting, and reel in a virtual fish at one of several fishing simulators set up around the floor.
