Superglue a Must-Have for Anglers
Blake Russell, WorldFishingNetwork.com
I always have a tube of superglue with me on fishing trips. There are a large variety of applications where I use it given its versatility. Adding a drop to plastic lures and trailers will help hold the plastic in place instead of it slipping down the hook. Sometimes I’ll add a drop to a leader knot to give me extra insurance on the hold of the knot. I’ve even used it to make a temporary repair to a rod eyelet that was coming loose.
In terms of applying the superglue, a little goes a long way. A small drop is almost always enough. Using too much will give you headaches you don’t want to have, so apply very lightly. I store my superglue tubes in a sealable plastic bag. I’d rather have the bottle of superglue leak in a baggy than my tackle box. If you don’t have any, go pick some up. You may be surprised how many uses you find for it on a fishing trip.
