This shrimp recipe I got from my fishing forum
and the whole family loved it. Now whenever I cook shrimp they demand it be this way.
one lb of raw shrimp ( I like the 25 - 30 count )two sicks of butter ( 1/2 pound )one onion ( tennis ball size at least )two bags of riceOld Bay seasoning ( 2 tablespoons )Lemon herb mixture or one fresh lemonpepper ( to taste , no salt , there's salt in the Old Bay )two fresh garlic cloves or garlic powderone cup of cream or heavy cream or Half n Half
1 - chop up onion into fairly small pieces, cut up garlic very thinly add tomelting butter on low heat .2 - shell shrimp ( set them aside on paper towel in a bowl )3 - squeeze lemon on raw shrimp or sprinkle lemon herb mixture on them4 - boil rice5 - onions should soft n tender by now , garlic also ( don't burn the garlic )6 - now add the Shrimp , Old Bay and pepper ( and a little garlic powder if youdidn't have fresh )7 - cook until the shrimp turn orange ( optional - add cream or Half n Half )( The shrimp is to saute in the butter mixture not boil in cream. )Pour shrimp mixture over rice and eat with French or Italian bread .This should take only 20 minutes , 30 minutes if you don't have all youringredients in front of you when starting.
