Scott Victorious at ABA Event on Arkansas River

#American Bass Anglers' Division 47, Arkansas held its seventh and last one-day qualifying tournament of the 2012 season on the Arkansas River on March 17. Mostly cloudy skies and a 50,000+ CFS flow had anglers questioning how the day would go. Overall, the fishing was tough but a few anglers managed to catch a few quality fish. 15 anglers weighed in 19 fish with a total weight of 42.93 lbs.Robert Scott from Little Rock, Arkansas locked up first place and took home $388.00 with 5 fish bass that weighed 12.21 lbs. Robert locked up after a 2 hour wait for a barge and caught his fish on a jig. Jamey Black of Sheridan, Arkansas locked down and grabbed second place for $201.00 with a total weight of 10.82 lbs. Lance Pyle of Sherwood, Arkansas rounded out the top three for $71.00 with 9.93 lbs. John Simonof took Big Bass of day with a bass weighing 3.81 lbs and earned $75. John also earned an additional $100 as part of the Anglers Advantage Insurance Big Bass program.These anglers acquired valuable points to insure their entry into the division?s 2-day championship on Lake Ouachita in Apr 2012 and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held on Grand Lake, OK in the fall of 2012.
