Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo - Hosts of "The Choice" and "Archer's Choice"

Outdoor Channel sat down with Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo to talk about their recent milestone on the network, how they got their start, and what the future holds for the superstar hunting couple.

OUTD: You two are celebrating 10 great years on Outdoor Channel. What's been the biggest change that you've noticed since you first started?

RALPH: More families and more couples out there hunting! Which is so important to grow the outdoor lifestyle that we have all come to love and cherish!!VICKI: I have to say that the quality of the shows have really made leaps and bounds, just as all of the equipment that we use has. There is also a lot more husband & wife shows out there, which is awesome. We need the number of hunters to rise and one way to do that is to show that it can be a family outing!!

OUTD: Fans always want to know how legends began the journey. How did North America's Favorite Hunting Couple get their start?

RALPH: Before the age of ten I was captivated by the flight of the arrow. I was consumed by it. Every chance I got I would be shooting my bow. I worked at the local archery pro shops and opened my own at the age of 23. I was fortunate to get into the filming at an early stage in my life and in the industry. As the shop and the popularity grew, so did my opportunities and I tried to capitalize on each and every one. I have been living a dream since the 80’s, and how many people are blessed to be able to say that?VICKI: Well, I actually met Ralph at his archery shop, ‘Archer’s Choice’, when I went there to buy myself a bow back in 1988. Ralph was already filming hunts and he had been on some TV shows back in the day. His first hunting video release was Caribou Epic with Walter Payton, from the Chicago Bears, in 1987. We were married in 1993 and I started editing our hunting videos with some help from Ralph. Then about 11 years ago, a few of the manufacturers that were sponsoring our hunting videos suggested that we start a television show on the Outdoor Channel!! Here we are with Archer’s Choice in its 10th year on Outdoor Channel!!

OUTD: Archer's Choice and The Choice are digging into the vault in 2010 as they celebrate milestones. Can you tell us a little about what we can expect?

RALPH: You can expect to see some of the favorites from years past. The good, the bad and the ugly! I think the coolest thing is from day one, we have always strived to keep it real! We plan on doing so for the next ten to twenty years, as long as you all keep watching!VICKI: We asked people at shows and on the web what their favorite and most memorable hunts from the past on The Choice and the past on Archer’s Choice were. You will definitely see some moose, deer and bears, not too mention the fun things that happened along the way!

OUTD: And for all-new episodes coming later this year, what do you guys and the Posse have in store for the viewers of America's Leader in Outdoor TV?

RALPH: We have some of the best moose footage we have ever gotten this past fall. We have stepped up, striving to get better footage out in the field, as well as in the studio!

OUTD: You both keep incredibly busy. What does a typical year look like for you both, between production, appearances, hunting and family?

RALPH: Booked. It looks booked. From the busy hunting schedule to our appearances and everything in between, we’ve become more packed then our freezer and taxidermists. But, we wouldn’t give it up for anything!!VICKI: We are on the road a lot and try to take our son, RJ, with us as much as possible, but with him being in 3rd grade now, it is getting harder to do that. We have basically two season, hunting season and show season! If we aren’t out hunting or at a consumer show or appearance, we are at the Archer’s Choice Media Studio probably filming something!

OUTD: What does the future hold for you guys? What's in store for the next ten years for Ralph and Vicki?

RALPH: We hope to get our son RJ and all of the Posse’s children, more involved with the filming and hunting. We hope to use our position in the industry, to strengthen the participation and to open the eyes of so many to understand that we are all in this together.VICKI: I think we will try getting more of the kids out there hunting and try even harder to promote the hunting lifestyle! Our company seems to grow larger every year and with God’s blessing, that will continue!
