News from Savage Arms, manufacturers of hunting, competition and targeting shooting centerfire and rimfire rifles and shotguns:

Savage Arms is proud to announce its partnership with the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA), a professional hunter education association that teaches hunting and shooting safety and responsibilities throughout the United States.

“The IHEA encompasses everything Savage strives to support as they educate new hunters on safety and ethical practices,” said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing for Savage Arms. “The IHEA volunteers work diligently to provide comprehensive instruction and create the next generation of new hunters.”

The International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) - U.S.A. is the professional hunter education association affiliated with the Association of Fish and Wildlife agencies and the state fish and hunter education programs. With over 55,000 instructors, hunter education and shooting safety is presented across the United States. Through their sponsorship, Savage Arms can directly support these instructors and ensure that new generations of hunters are afforded the same education as they learn firearm safety, responsible hunting, landowner relationships, and more.

Executive Director of the IHEA-USA, Alex Baer, stated, “It’s a very exciting time for the IHEA-USA. We have just launched our Firearm Fundamental courses teaching safe firearm handling. We are also working on several new initiatives encouraging recent graduates to build their confidence while in the field and at the range. Partnerships like this demonstrate how committed the Firearms Industry is to safety and building a responsible firearm public. Savage’s commitment to our programs is much appreciated, and we thank them for their valuable support.”
