King Kat Event On Lake Tawakoni
Coming up next weekend the Cabela's King Kat tournament trail will hit the waters of Lake Tawakoni at West Tawakoni, Texas March 5, 2011. This is the opportunity for local catfish anglers to compete for cash, prizes and a chance to advance to the Cabela's King Kat Classic to be held on the Mississippi River at Burlington, Iowa October 27-28-29, 2011. The tournament weigh-in will be held at the West Tawakoni City Park. Tournament hours are 6:30 AM until 3:00 PM. All anglers must be in weigh-in line by 4:00 PM with a 5 fish limit per team. To help preserve the sport only live fish will be weighed in and all fish will be released after the tournament. For a complete list of rules phone or visit our website listed below.
Registration will be held Friday night March 4th at the Chamber of Commerce, 100 West Hwy 276, Quinlan, Texas from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with the Captains meeting to begin at 7:00pm. The trail is a team event. Teams will consist of one or two persons with one exception. A third person may accompany the team provided the third person is under 16 years of age or over 65 years of age. Entry fees for these qualifier tournaments are $200.00 per team. Late registration will be $225.00.
Special Note to Anglers:
Late registration will take place the day before the tournament from 5-7pm at the Registration site listed. The Captain's meeting will follow at 7pm. There will be no meeting or boat launch the morning of the event. Anglers will be allowed to launch on tournament water at 5AM tournament morning. Fishing to begin at 6:30AM - 3PM. You MUST be in weigh-in line by 4PM.
