IGFA Record Catches: Blue Peacock, Stracheyi Mahseer, Bigeye Trevally
The IGFA has recently released a brand new batch of recently approved world record catches. Check them out!Note: unless otherwise stated, these catches are all-tackle world records.
On Sept. 28, Emil Terry was fishing in the Cayman Islands when he landed this gargantuan escolar. It weighed 173 lbs, 12 oz, measured in at 187.96 cm, and was caught using strip bait.
Emma Hodge landed this red gurnard while fishing in the UK?s Falmouth Bay on Oct. 20. It weighed 3 lbs, 2 oz, measured in at 51.4 cm, and was caught using mackerel fillet.
This beautiful blue peacock was caught on Nov. 12 in Brazil?s Serra de Mesa Lake by Fabricio Bigua. It weighed 10 lbs, measured 61 cm, and was caught using an Imakatsu Trairao.
On Nov. 21, Lalie Tronel-Peyroz landed this huge muskellunge
, earning her the new F-Junior world record. She caught the monster muskie in the St. Lawrence River using a Depth Raider. It weighed 41 lbs, 1 oz, and measured in at 137.16 cm.
Jean Francois Hunbert landed this bigeye trevally while fishing in Panama?s Isla Coiba on Nov. 23. It was caught using a Sebile Stick Shad, and measured in at 84 cm, good enough for the all-tackle (length) world record.
Finally, Gavin Clarke landed this gorgeous stracheyi mahseer on Nov. 29 while fishing in Laos? Nam Song River. It weighed 9 lbs, 14 oz, measured in at 63 cm, and was caught using a Lucky Craft Pointer.
