Ice Fishing This Year In The Middle Of Nowhere
The start of this ice fishing season will be a huge change for me this year. I might be able to get out for opening day this year around my area but that'll be just about it.
After new years I'll be nowhere close to the city's I know and be on a journey waaayyyyy up north to a very remote fly-in community with my girlfriend. I'll be keeping her company for amost 2 months as she has been teaching the children of this community for the year.
The town is called Fort Albany and is only accessible by a 4 hour plane ride out of Timmins Ontario or by ice road in the winter. This tiny town is situated along the Albany River right beside the south shores of James Bay. She says its already -25 up there, there is already 5 inches of snow on the ground, and people are already bombing around on sleds. This will be definatly be an experience for me this year.
So I'll be asking around trying to find out as much as I can on how and where I can get some fish while I'm there without freezing to death in the meantime. If anyone has been fishing around this area please let me know but I know there is a very, very slim chance anyone has lol. I'll be updating the situation up there as much as I can.
