HT Redfish Event 2

HT Redfish Event 2
Leading on day 1, only weighing in 1 fish on day 2 and bringing in 2 monsters on day 3.
That is the quick and the deadly formula of this teams victory in Lake Charles, La. this past weekend...

The #87 Big Lake Guide Service team of Lee Daughdrill and Nick Poe weighed in early and weighed in a lot, a lot of weight that is...
Early into the weigh in and with this team bringing in 17.64 pounds we thought the fishing must be tremendous and everyone's going to have good weights. This team set a pace that no one could touch on day 1 and never let up.  The next closest team being well over a pound behind was locals Kevin and Phil Broussard in the #69 American Rodsmiths boat.  We got lucky today and caught 2 good fish with very few bites, Poe told the huge crowd that had gathered to watch the weigh in.

Well, we doubt luck had too much to do with the tremendous day 1 limit but what is even more amazing was this team's day 2 singular fish that still kept them in 3rd place, being it was a  9.21 pounder and brought their 2 day total to 26.85 pounds on just 3 of the 4 allotted fish.  On day 3 while the high winds laid down, the rain didn't, but that was ok with these two who had to make runs of over 200 miles per day to catch their fish.  It's just impossible to make those runs without our Mercury Outboard and Haynie boat, Daughdrill told the rain soaked crowd that braved the elements on day 2 to watch the anglers weigh in as the sun set over the water.
With a 3 day total weight of 44.62 pounds on just 5 fish, this team took home the top prize of $25,000.00 plus the $1,100.00 big bag of the weekend and the $500.00 Stiffy Push Pole incentive money for having the heaviest bag of the weekend and crediting Stiffy Push Poles with helping them to the victory in the 2nd tour stop of this early season.  Their total take for this weekend's worth of work? $26,600.00.  Congratulations to Lee Daughdrill and Nick Poe fishing in the #87 Big Lake Guide Service Haynie boat you showed this weekend that good guys really can finish first and deserve all the accolades your fellow competitors were throwing your way.
