GIRLS CAN FISH, THIS ONE IS FOR THE LADIES.
For those of you who think that the ladies are a step behind when it comes to fishing, I beg to differ. This past weekend I was schooled by my fifteen year old step daughter, and it felt great.
It all started with my wife suggesting we go on a fishing date. I am all for that, in fact I think we should do more fishing dates. After I agreed to go on a fishing date the trash talking started, not from me, but from my wife. She gets great satisfaction when she out fishes me. My step daughter, Thailar has been wanting to get out fishing, so when she heard about the fishing date she was coming too.
Let the games Begin.
Thailar was using a worm and a bobber. Her first catch was a catfish.
Her next cast was a nice Perch. She can't stand to see a fish die and she hates to see the fish bleeding. After we released the Perch Thailar says " I 've caught the biggest fish so far". That meant it was time for me to put the Zara Spook on and go after some Pike. I figured I would put an end to the trash talking by getting a nice Pike.
So I started casting and with in a couple casts it was fish on.
So much for the nice Pike. I caught a small Bass that wasn't much bigger than the lure. The Perch Thailar caught could have eaten that little Bass for lunch.
I was still behind when it came to the biggest fish.
Thailar was catching some Sunfish and then she caught a nice Crappie. She was on fire with the worm and bobber. I was thinking I should switch to a worm and bobber, but I decided to keep throwing a Spook in hopes of hitting a Pike.
I didn't get a Pike but instead a Bass.
I actually caught a couple Bass.
So now I had big fish of the day. Then we had a good double header.
We joined forces, actually just because I caught a Bass meant Thailar had to catch one to even the score, Or did she just get lucky.
I can tell you it wasn't luck because she landed the biggest fish of the day. Thailar was on fire and she was matching me fish for fish at one point. Until she sealed the deal.
Yep, I lost the battle and I couldn't be happier. Good job Thai, next time I'll let you take me fishing.
IT CERTAINLY WAS A GREAT DAY FOR FISHING, JUST AWESOME!!!!!!!
