Georgia Angler Wins Tennessee ABA Tournament

New American Bass Anglers member Jamey Collette from Subligna, Georgia picked up a win in his first ever ABA tournament this past weekend on Nickajack Lake. Collette took home $360 for his efforts in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament.


His five-bass limit weighed in at 13.76 pounds, anchored by a 3.94-pound largemouth that earned him $60 for the biggest fish of the tournament.

Second place went to Vernon Veasey with a weight of 8.75 pounds, while Mike Rench took third with 8.46 pounds.

The top five anglers of the tournament were:

  1. Jamey Collette ? 13.76 lbs
  2. Vernon Veasey ? 8.75 lbs
  3. Mike Rench ? 8.46 lbs
  4. Jimmy Burton ? 7.38 lbs
  5. Bill Payton ? 5.35 lbs

Winning Strategy: Collette?s five-fish limit was caught in 10-12 feet of water on a crankbait and a shaky head worm.


Next Divisional Tournament: This division?s next tournament will be April 22nd on Nickajack Lake at Shellmound Ramp.
