Galvan, Walker Take Rock River King Kat Event
This past Saturday June 25th the Cabela?s King Kat Tournament Trail hit the waters of the Rock River at Rockford, Illinois where anglers from several different cities and states were competing not only for cash and prizes, but the opportunity to qualify for the 2011 Cabela?s King Kat Classic. This year's Cabela?s King Kat Classic will be held on the Mississippi River at Burlington, Iowa, October 27-28-29, 2011.
As nearly 70 anglers weighed in their fish over 100 spectators watched on to see these large fish which the anglers struggled to find during the day of competition. This was really not the caliber of fish that these anglers were looking for, but with cool temperatures and light rain all week these fish were changing patterns and difficult to locate for the anglers.
"We wish to thank the Rockford Area CVB for their support of the event and making the first ever stop in Rockford a great one", said Tournament Director Tanner Tabor. For more information on the area call: (800) 877-1652 or visit their website at: www.gorockford.com.
