FLW College Fishing Opens In Virginia
#

National Guard FLW College Fishing is headed to Smith Mountain Lake March 27 for the first of four stops in the Northern Division. Forty college teams will compete for a top award of $10,000 to be split between the school and bass fishing club; $7,500 for bass club and $2,500 for their school.

?Water temperatures have really started to warm up and should be in the mid-50s, which will really help increase the bite,? said Castrol pro David Dudley of Lynchburg, Va. ?Docks are still going to be key in fishing this tournament. Teams should plan to fish fast and thoroughly and hit as many docks as possible.

?It is going to be all about jig fishing,? Dudley went on to say. ?Jerkbaits won?t work quite as well, but may be a good second-choice bait. It?s going to take about 20 pounds to win.?

Anglers will take off from Parkway Marina located at 16918 Smith Mountain Lake Parkway in Huddleston, Va., at 7 a.m. Sunday. Weigh-in will be held at the marina beginning at 1:30 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.
