Florida Submits a Declaration of Disaster Due to BP Oil Spill
The waters and beaches of Florida are still clean and oil free.  Fishing has been great yet rumors, fears and misconceptions about the Deepwater Horizon oil spill continue to damage Florida's gulf coast charter and tourism industries.The Florida Guides Association and other stakeholders unanimously decided on June 1, 2010 to follow the lead of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama and submit a declaration of disaster for Florida to the US goverment.  The declaration was submitted by Senator Bill Nelson.  You can read Senator Nelson's letter at //www.florida-guides.com/documents/disaster.pdf.#
