An angler's guide to the latest boats, motors and electronics. (February 2008).
Carolina Skiff's DLV 198 Elite has a unique modified "V" hull design aimed at giving anglers one boat for shallow and deep water, while maintaining the capacity to run with a smooth, dry ride. The DLV 198 Elite is a 19-foot boat with a 96-inch beam and 26-inch gunnels, a configuration that gives it 2,200-pound weight capacity.
This center console boat is rated for a 150-horsepower motor. Standard equipment includes a 700-gallon aerator, a lighted 22-gallon baitwell, two-rod box inserts, and an electrical system that handles either 12- or 24-volt trolling motors. The rod boxes -- and in fact, all storage compartments -- have LED lighting.
