Fishing Fever Finally Cured!!!!!!!!

Fishing Fever Finally Cured!!!!!!!!
Biggest bass of 3-12-2011           Finally, after 4 months of reorganizing tackle boxes, restringing, and servicing rods and reels, the weather finally cooperated . I went out on my first fishing trip of the season on 3-12-2011, The air temperature was in the mid to lower 50's, but it was sunny with no wind. I trolled my way around the spanning lake, launching a variety of lures. The lower deeper end of the pond was     still a bone chilling 48 degrees and the fishing reflected it. After multiple cast with the Rapala baby bass colored countdown minnow, Booyah jig with crawl tail, and my trusty Booyah green and orange willow blade spinnerbait, I only managed to land 3 smaller largemouths. I then made the            decision to  travel down the 15 acre lake to upper shallows. Much to my surprise the water              temperature was in the mid 50's in the upper end of the lake. After about an hour my fishing buddy Jake and I had racked up 15 largemouth bass, even pulling off the double on 3 separate occasions.

The following Saturday, March 19, 2011, Jake and I headed out again.  The weather was a   chilly 48 degrees, and there were constant 40 mph wind gusts.    As you can probably figure out,          conditions were less than ideal for fishing.  Our tackle arsenal was reduced to spinnerbaits due to the high winds.  The bright side of the day was, that because of the past weeks higher temps, the    lower end of the lake had heated up to 55 degrees.  The fishing was tough, but after 3 hours of        determination we manage to reel in 12 largemouth bass by slow rolling our spinnerbaits.  The             largest bass of the day was caught by Jake, and was just over 3 lbs.  I look forward to posting     after each  bass fishing trip this year, as well as my upcoming trip to the Chesapeake bay, for stripers.    Until next time good luck and great fishing.
