FIRST DAY OUT

FIRST DAY OUT
I did my spring prep today, so I figured I might as well hit the river. The only thing in season right now is Pan Fish.

It was rainy and damp, but no wind, so the conditions were good. I was fishing with a night crawler on a hook with no weight, attached to a float. It didn't take to long to get into my first fish of the year.

I was happy my first fish of the year was a Bass, Sunfish are a dime a dozen, so I knew I would be getting some of them.

It poured rain from start to finish, but it was nice to be back in the great outdoors fishing.

I had a chance to test out my new Bass Pro gear bag. I can tell you it was a good investment, all my gear stayed dry. I bought two of them a few weeks ago when they were on sale for around $20.00.  No more wet gear or rusted hooks.

The Sun Fish were hitting like crazy, most times they become a nuisance but today being my first day out I was happy to take whatever bites.

Not a bad Pumpkin Seed, a little slab.

I also had a chance to try out my new camera. When I was selected as ambassador of the year, one of the prizes WFN sent me was a new water proof digital camera.  The camera is awesome, and I had some fun filming under water.

I let a Sun Fish go and was able to get it swimming away.

I had some fun trying the camera out. I can't wait to get some under water Bass videos. I love making my own fishing videos, so this camera is going help make my videos that much better.

For my first day of fishing it was a pretty good day. I caught some fish, tried out some new gear, and was quite content to be standing on the river bank.
