Eschete and Jordan go Back to Back for 40K
Team Majek Boat's Dwayne Eschete and Clark Jordan win the third event in the series with 46.17 pounds, taking home the top prize of $40,000.00 and the valuable 200 team of the year points. Dwayne told the crowd at day 3's weigh in, "we caught all of our fish on Berkley Gulp but having Majek, Yamaha, Minnkota, and all our great equipment work flawlessly is a weapon out here on this tour".This weekend had everything, well almost everything. High winds and no winds, pouring rain and no rain, bright sunny days and days when the sun refused to show. The only thing this weekend didn't have was the small weights the anglers said would win this event. With the stubborn affects of brown tide still lingering, the predictions were anywhere from 12 to 14 pounds a day would surely take home the top prize. As Eschete and Jordan as well as the rest of Saturday's top 10 teams, that would not be the case. The top 3 day weight of 46.17 turned in by Majek's Dwayne Eschete and Clark Jordan was just 1.07 pounds better than team Coastline Trailers second place weight of 45.10 netting Travis Land and Britt Ordes $10,000.00. Team Sport Marine's Jason White and Chris Logan followed in third with 43.49 showing that it was going to be a very “normal” 14 pound, plus, daily limit to finish near the top.The top 5 found team Triton Boat's Erik Rue and Larry Puckett in fifth with an even 43 pounds of Texas red fish while Boats Etc's Mike Pickell and Bryan Gwyn made their first cut of the season count finishing in fourth. The totals were very “normal” when compared to the first two events of the season with 124 fish being weighed in weighing in at a very respectable 768.30 pounds or a 6.20 pound average with 3 teams zeroing due to mechanical issues and other teams failing to reach their 2 fish per day limits. Each weekend that we host events we are reminded again of why we do what we do, this past weekend was no different. We at HT feel we have the best anglers, friends and fans in the redfish world and are thankful for the time we get to spend with each and every one of them.
