Crappie USA Tournament Results
This past Saturday April 3rd Crappie USA held a qualifying event on the Washington/Ferguson Lakes Near Greenville, Mississippi where anglers braved adverse weather conditions for a chance to place in the money in this event. These anglers from several different states were competing for not only cash and prizes, but a chance to advance to the prestigious Cabela's Crappie USA Classic to be held this Fall on the Pickwick/Wilson Lakes in Alabama October 27-30, 2010.
Semi-Pro Division Results
1st Place Amateur Andy Golden & Ty QuickFirst place in the amateur division was Philip Coker of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Ricky McWilliams of Halls, Tennessee with a total weight of 10.36 pounds and earning $700.00. Philip and Ricky were fishing Lake Washington in 6 feet of water along an area with a 1 foot drop off using black/chartreuse jigs tipped with minnows. The team caught over 50 fish for the day including a 1.77 pound crappie giving them an additional $20.00.
Second place went to Helen and Eddie Meeks of Crosset, Arkansas with a weight of 6.52 pounds and earning $300.00 which they donated to the Crappie USA Kids scholarship fund. Helen and Eddie were fishing shallow water, 2 feet or less, using Southern Pro black/chartreuse jigs tipped with minnows. The team caught over 37 fish for the day. All of us at Outdoor Promotions wish to give a very special thanks to Helen and Eddie Meeks for donating their earnings of $300.00 to the Crappie USA Kids Scholarship fund. Without the generosity of fine folks such as Helen and Eddie there would be no Crappie USA Kids Scholarship Fund. Over the years thanks to the support of our anglers Crappie USA has been able to give more than $270,000.00 to these deserving youth to advance their education and make the world a better place for tomorrow.

Crappie USA Free Kids Fishing Rodeo
In conjunction with the tournament Crappie USA held their Kids Rodeo on Saturday morning with several local children attending the event. All the participants signed up for a chance to win one of 6-$2,000.00 scholarships to be drawn for at the Cabela's Crappie USA Classic.
Crappie USA and our anglers have contributed nearly $270,000.00 to the "Crappie Kids" Scholarships since 1997. We are very proud to be a part of the education process for the youngsters who participate in our tournaments as adult/youth teams and those who fish in the Crappie USA "Kids Fishing Rodeos".
